Western Colorado Hunting Retriever Club (WCHRC) was formed to create an atmosphere of training and fellowship among retriever owners and their dogs. We believe retrievers are most happy when actively pursuing their breeding characteristics.
We strive to provide an environment where your retriever can learn the basic skills of obedience– sit, stay, come and heel– on command as well as those tools necessary to “go afield”.
Many of our members enjoy the thrill of competition as well, and on a monthly basis we gather to educate our dogs on the rudiments of the qualification levels of “Hunt Tests”. We have all levels of performers and even if you don’t ever participate in a test, it’s fun to watch as a dog moves from one skill level to the next.
